This was a rush assignment, and a simple brief: European Commissioner of Trade Peter Mandelson and his official car. The rest was down to his PR and busy schedule. It was quick - all of three minutes, during which I managed eight pictures. My selection sent to the newspaper is here:

ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've done a fair bit of journalism around and about and I find it really hard to catch even the story - let alone a crisp picture of the moment.
I'm a fine art painter, working in the Northwest UK. A lot of my work revolves around the idea of modern portraiture - you can see my stuff at http://www.helenmaryperkins.com I'm currently working on an idea based on Peter Mandelson's determination to cut funding for higher education and I wondered if you would let me use your great photo of the man himself, as part of the basis of a painting.
