This Friday Advocats Sans Frontieres, an international NGO devoted to providing legal assistance launches the 'Room for Justice' exhibition at the Palais de Justice in Brussels. I am pleased that they included two of my images of last year's Oilsands reportage from Alberta, Canada. Fellow photographers in the show include Raghu Rai of Magnum and Kadir van Lohuizen of Noor, so I am in good company ;-)
We all know about dirty oil companies flouting the rules in poor and corrupt Third World countries, and thus I consider it a success to have these pictures from the First World included in the exhibition and the industry's activities considered a corporate crime.
The exhibition will tour numerous European cities in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Great Britain. I look forward to seeing the show in London sometime in the next year.
